DiamondFire Support Team
Helping teach Computer Science to younger people
Background
DiamondFire is a Minecraft coding server which aims to teach younger people Computer Science, using a visual programming language to allow people to make their own games. The server was featured at the 2017 Scratch Confrence in France, as well as in 2020 at Snapcon 2020 at UC Berkeley.
Responsibilities
As part of the support team I helped answer user questions about how to implement features, as well as taking part with one-on-one sessions to help fix bugs in players' code and talk them through difficulties they experienced. The role also required me to help explain code in a way which people could easily understand, to help guide them toward fixing the bugs themselves rather than continuing to need our assistance.
